What's your favorite winter riding gear?

I ride throughout the winter and I had an issue with the cold air blowing up my jacket sleeves, even with winter gauntlet gloves. I had a pair of new, long crew socks so cut the tops off, folded them down like cuffs and put on my arms (wrist area) under my jacket and no more cold air!! Yes, it would be easier to wear a thick sweater but once I get to work, it's then too hot and I don't want to be pulling off/putting on a sweater.

Hey Queen of Hearts! Thanks for the great suggestion! My arms are a little longer than average (I think), so in addition to the breeze blowing up my arms, my sleeves tend to ride up a little. This idea seems like it would help that too. Thanks again for the post... AND... Welcome to OYIR!!
