One of our friends hit by a drunk driver...

Last week, in Sherman, TX, one of our friends (and a member of the Chrome Angels in Texas) who is a very experienced lady rider was hit on her bike by a drunk driver. Kim had done absolutely nothing unsafe... it was the impaired condition of the other driver that caused the accident. As a result, Kim had injuries, lost time from work, medical bills, etc. We later learned that this was the driver's FIFTH DWI!! (See details at http://www.kxii.com/home/headlines/64046187.html?storySection=comments# ) It's been truly inspiring to see the local riding community rally around Kim during this difficult time.

Moral of the story... you can always count on true friends to be there for you... AND... be careful out there. No matter how experienced you are, sometimes things happen that are out of our control!

What an absolute, unnecessary, tragedy. I don't understand our judicial system that would continue to allow DWI offenders to be back out on the road. The judges who let them off should be held accountable. Wonder how many others he/she has injured (not read the article as yet, but will do so). Just shouldn't be!!!
